Post-Outage Inventory Made Simple with ICON

Weh… Thank goodness it’s over!

Finally, you’re back on day shift, and the machine has been up and running for a week. If anything happens now, we can blame it on operations.

The engineers are happy, the plant manager is happy, and you made it look so easy your boss asked if you’d be interested in an “incredible opportunity” to plan the next outage. You think, heck yeah! That means no boring reports from the overhaul that no one reads for 5-10 years.

Just after you agree, he shares that the next outage starts in 3 months and he expects a list of all the spare parts and consumables used during your last project.

Looks like you’ve been bamboozled!

Don’t worry though, ICON is here. You’ve heard about our inventory process, and now you’re counting on it to bail you out. We promised, we’re here to help and keep you sleeping at night.

  • Quick Inventory Checks: When the outage is over, mobilize the boxes to ICON. We’ll perform inventory within 1-2 weeks and provide a written report of what’s missing or needs reordering. This allows you to go out for quotes sooner and cover the plant’s risk exposure.
  • Sealed and Stored: Once the inventory is complete, we car seal the box closed and can store it for you or ship it back until the parts come in. When new parts arrive, we preserve the components using VCI, perform a final inventory, and car seal the box, ready for any outage.
  • Avoid the Hassle: You might think, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it’s a bit of money, and I perform inventory using the service contractor right after the outage.” We’ve seen it, we’ve tried it. It doesn’t work.

Billy Bob might write what’s missing on a piece of wood because boss man didn’t give him a pen and paper and he has been riding him all outage. Maybe that paper or board gets to you, maybe it doesn’t. If it does, do you think the next guy wants to deal with poorly preserved parts or trust Billy Bob had his best interest in mind?

Heck no! He’ll inventory the box again, and now you’ve paid for inventory three times and still may not have assurance it’s right.

We do this all the time, we know what we’re looking at, and we’re here to minimize the cost of planning. Are you ready to let us help you?

Think about the next guy. Contact us today to learn more about how ICON can simplify your post-outage inventory and reorder process. Let’s get started!
